If you’ve ever shot AR500 steel targets you’ll know why they’re the industry standard. Unlike mild steel, this super-hard steel can withstand an intense beating. Rather than allowing bullets to chunk away material or even pass straight through, AR500 steel targets stop rounds dead on impact. This provides both audible and visual feedback, creating a greatly improved user experience. It also increases the safety of shooting steel targets drastically. By maintaining good surface quality – flat, no craters – bullet splatter can be directed towards the ground when hanging targets at a downward angle. With uneven surfaces and cupped or bent targets (such as mild steel or inferior targets) it becomes very difficult to anticipate bullet splatter direction, and the chances of ricochets increases.
To keep the whole thing together is a pair of sawhorse-style target stand brackets that is an essential component of an effective target stand that is strong, lightweight, and requires no tools for assembly. Standard 2”x2” wood found at your local hardware store is used for the legs and crossbar which, unlike steel stands that can fail after just one stray shot, can absorb numerous impacts. The wood can be cut to whatever length is required, providing the versatility you demand for your unique terrain. Use our hardware kit (2 lengths of chain, nuts, bolts and washer) to suspend the target between the brackets. Control height easily by simply adjusting the chain within locking slots.

Perfect solution for recreational shooting! All in one kit that is very portable and durable. If everyone used these we would see far less waste and dumping of targets like TV’s Washing Machines, and other items in the backcountry. Stand is simple and easy to replace parts for should you end up shooting one of the legs or chains. The gong has survived hundreds of shots from various rifles at much closer than recommended distances.

Kit has been great so far. Super easy to setup. Gong is holding up really well to my 9mm and .223. Even shot it with .308 too close (50 yards…) but it was fine :O ! Would recommend!

Another great Drummond target! I actually received this package by mistake when I ordered the AR 550 gong. They corrected the mistake immediately and sent me the proper target but also let me keep this package to shoot in the meantime. I can’t believe the punishment it takes. Shot all day with .308, .223, 30-06, and 7mm Rem Mag. Ranges varied from 100-500 yards. Barely a mark left on the steel.

brought the kit to the wood, very easy to set up, as quoted, shooting 100 yds, impact feedback is great, my 270 win did not penetrate the plate, while the panda steel target i bought earlier sat by the side lost its steam: dark, and easily penetrated by 270 win.
